The previous episode of Mushoku Tensei, Lets Go Home, started with a sorrowful Rudeus thinking about his relationship with his parents. He realizes that the recent events caused him great pain despite his detachment from Paul and Zenith.
In the next scene, Roxy visits Rudeus to console him. This leads to them sharing a few intimate moments between them. The following day, Lilia tells him that Zeniths memory cannot be retrieved, but she wants to take care of her.
Moreover, Lilia advises Rudeus to return home. On their way to Ranao, Elinalise allows Rudeus to admit his feelings to Roxy. However, she wants Rudeus to seek Sylphiettes permission before their marriage.
