In her first project since The Mandalorian, Deadline reveals that Gina Carano is set to star in a revenge thriller from The Hitcher scribe Eric Red. The untitled film based on Red’s novel White Knuckle (our review here) finds Carano playing a traumatized woman who hires a long-hauler to track down an infamous serial killer named “White Knuckle.” Haunted by her encounter and the cops’ inability to catch her tormentor, she partners with a trucker to end the killer’s reign of terror.

In addition to her starring role, Carano will also produce. Word has it that the project can be likened to films like Duel, Breakdown, and True Grit. Cameras are scheduled to roll in October in places like Tennessee, Utah, and Montana. The film is currently negotiating with a director and is aiming for a Q1 2022 release. The Daily Wire plans to release the movie exclusively in the U.S. to its members, in addition to a worldwide release. The company previously released the controversial school shooting thriller Run Hide Fight, co-starring Thomas Jane.
